A product recall notice has been issued by the high street retailer as an injury risk was found. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has also issued a recall notice. Marks and Spencer's Hand Painted Jug has been taken off the shelves, and customers have been asked to return it. The product, a blue-tinted jug with painted leaf decorations, poses a risk because the glass may break during use. Marks and Spencer said: "We have identified a potential safety issue with this product as there is a risk of glass breakage resulting in injury. "We recommend that you stop using this product immediately. The product is no longer available for sale. "Please return this product to any M&S store (excl. Outlets or Franchise stores) for a full refund. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused." The OPSS said: "The product presents a risk of injuries as the glass may break during use, leading to injuries. The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005. "The product has been withdrawn from the market and recalled from end users by Marks & Spencer. Consumers should stop using the product immediately and return it to any Marks & Spencer’s store for a full refund." Last week, shoppers were warned about another product recall. B&M and Savers were among the stores recalling Simple Kind to Skin Micellar Cleansing Water. Simple said: "In the UK, we are recalling a limited number of Simple Kind to Skin Micellar Cleansing Water (730ml) products with specific batch codes (613841 or 613941) as a precaution due to the possible presence of bacteria, which has the potential to cause eye inflammation for some consumers. " It added: "The safety of the people who buy and use our products is our top priority. Other Simple products are not affected by this issue. "If you have any concerns about your health, we recommend seeking advice from a medical professional." Customers have been told to contact Unilever directly by email [email protected] with a photo of the bottle showing one of the affected batch codes (613841 or 613941) on the bottom. High-street chains like Boots and Superdrug sell smaller sizes of the product (such as 200ml or 400ml), which are unaffected by this recall.
