A massive fire has erupted at a waste facility in Deptford/Bermondsey in south-east London, with people sharing footage online of huge flames and plumes of smoke rising over the skyline
Huge flames and clouds of smoke can be seen coming from a major fire in south-east London this evening.
The London Fire Brigade said 15 fire engines and around 100 firefighters are responding to a fire at a waste facility on Landman Way in Deptford/Bermondsey. Local residents have been urged to keep windows and doors closed.
National Rail says it is expecting disruption at London Bridge until the end of the day due to the fire, with services possibly "cancelled, delayed or revised".

Fifteen fire engines and about 100 firefighters are tackling a waste fire in southeast London.
London Fire Brigade (LFB) said the blaze on Landman Way, in Deptford, involves about 50 tonnes of household waste stored at a waste facility.
The force were first called just before 8pm, and crews from East Greenwich, Old Kent Road, Deptford and surrounding fire stations went to the scene.
In a video posted online, flames and smoke could be seen billowing above the surrounding buildings.
People have been asked to keep their doors and windows closed where possible because of the large amount of smoke.
The cause of the blaze is unknown.
London Fire Brigade states: "A fire on a property between London Bridge and New Cross means some lines are blocked. As a result, trains between these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
"Disruption is expected until the end of the day."
Fire crews from East Greenwich, Old Kent Road, Deptford and surrounding stations have been battling the blaze since they received the reports at around 8pm.
The fire involves around 50 tonnes of household waste stored at a waste facility.
A statement from London Fire Brigade states: "The Brigade was first called about the incident at 1959, and crews from East Greenwich, Old Kent Road, Deptford and surrounding fire stations have been sent to the scene. The cause of the fire is not yet known."
National Rail says two lines between New Cross and London Bridge are "blocked for safety reasons".
It states: "A large fire has broken out at a recycling plant between New Cross and London Bridge. Two of the lines between New Cross and London Bridge are blocked for safety reasons."
Passengers are told they can use tickets at no extra cost on London Underground services between our London Terminals.
The fire service as urged people who live nearby to the fire to keep their windows and doors closed due to the smoke.

People are continuing to speculate that the fire is coming from the same recycling centre as in June, but there is not yet any official comment from London Fire Brigade.
One person wrote: "Just drove past this on the Overground. An entire industrial building is on fire. Looks like the recycling centre again."
Another stated on X: "Same location in Bermondsey as couple months ago is alight again."
And a further person said: "Huge plumes of smoke moving across Canary Wharf after a fire has broken out in East London."

Today's blaze follows another at a recycling centre in Bermondsey on June 8.
London Fire Brigade reported on that occasion that it deployed 15 fire engines and around 100 firefighters to the blaze on Landmann Way after first receiving reports of a fire at 5:32pm. The fire led to trains being cancelled.
LFB deployed two 32-metre turntable ladders, a hose layer unit and a drone team to put out the fire last month.
One X user has shared an image of the flames from inside a train in Bermondsey.
They too suggest the blaze has erupted at a recycling centre.
A person has posted footage of the fire from Canary Wharf, amid claims on social media that it is at a recycling plant.
They wrote: "Major fire in London. View from Canary Wharf."
And a person replied: "I think it might be recycle centre, which had a fire incident last month as well. Though not sure about it."
A further comment read: "Very black smoke. Hope everyone is safe."
Footage shared on social media shows smoke rising above the London skyline.
The London Fire Brigade is yet to issue a statement.
Images show clouds of smoke that can be seen across London and appear to be coming fom a building in south London.
One person wrote on X: "Currently seeing a fire in southeast London, hope everyone is all right!"
The fire looks to be coming from a recycling centre in the Bermondsey/Surrey Quays area.
About 100 firefighters were called to another fire at a recycling depot on Landmann Way, Bermondsey, last month.
Images and footage show the fire in south-east London, with one person claiming it is from a building by Deptford Park.
They shared a clip on X saying: "Building on fire opposite Deptford Park."
