Man found dead in public car park in Truro as police make arrest The death of a 41-year-old man in Truro, Cornwall is currently being treated as unexplained and significant enquiries remain ongoing to establish the circumstances A man has been arrested after a man was found dead in a public car park in Truro. At around 10.45am on Monday August 17 police rushed to Moorfield Car Park in Calenick Street following a call by the ambulance service. Upon arrival officers found a 41-year-old man, from the Truro area, deceased inside the ground floor of the car park. While the man has not been formerly identified police did confirm he was 41-years-old and his next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Detectives investigating the death which they have called "unexplained" and have arrested a man in connection with their enquiries. A spokesperson for the force said: "Today, a 44-year-old man from Truro has been arrested on suspicion of assault grievous bodily harm, administering a noxious substance and theft. He remains in police custody. "A cordon remains in place around the closed ground floor of the car park while forensic examinations and searches are carried out. Officers are also reviewing CCTV footage to establish the man’s movements prior to his death." Detective Inspector Jon Bray said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage as we work to establish the circumstances surrounding this man’s death. One arrest has been made in connection with our investigation and the man remains in custody. “We are appealing to anyone who may have information or witnessed anything suspicious in the area between the afternoon of Friday 14 August and 10.45am on Monday 17 August. "There will be an ongoing police presence in the area while enquiries continue and anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak with officers at the scene. The inside ground floor car parking area will remain closed today while detectives and specialist teams carry out their investigations. The outside parking area remains unaffected. “We would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding around the ongoing police presence.
