Huge amount raised for sisters fighting for their lives after wrong-way M9 crash A fundraiser set up for the three sisters left with catastrophic injuries after a BMW driving the wrong way on the M9 in Ireland collided with their car has raised a staggering amount A massive amount of money has been raised for the three sisters left with catastrophic injuries following a horrifying crash on the M9 in Ireland on Sunday. Niamh Kinsella, Alma Kinsella and Ella Hendricken were in a car which was struck head-on by a BMW travelling the wrong way on the motorway in Co Kildare at a speed of more than 75mph. The five boys travelling in the BMW died in the crash. They were Jeremy O'Brien, 18, from Carlow, Alex McCarthy, 17, from Carlow, Joey Carthy, 15, from Athy, Co Kildare, Jack Kennedy, 17, also from Athy and Kamil Pustkowski, 17, from Limerick. A fundraiser launched for the three sisters has raised hundreds of thousands of euro within a day, the Irish Mirror reports. Niamh and Alma, in their 30s, are fighting for their lives in hospital. Ella, in her 20s, was also seriously injured in the crash - as was a child in their car. Niamh and Alma are understood to have been in the front of the vehicle and remain in a critical condition in Tallaght Hospital, while Ella is in St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious condition. Ella and the child were in the back of the car when the collision occurred near Moone shortly before 3am. The innocent family, from the Graigecullen area of Co Carlow, are understood to have been on their way to Dublin Airport where they were making their way to a wedding abroad. A fundraiser was set up on Tuesday by a friend of Ella’s and, as of Wednesday morning, it has already raised more than €190,000 (£162,000) from more than 7,000 donations. The target is set at €350,000 (£300,000). Organiser Bryan Curley wrote: “I’m setting up this fundraiser for my best friend Ella and her sisters, Niamh and Alma, who were recently involved in a serious road traffic accident. “This has been an incredibly difficult and frightening time for Ella, Niamh, Alma and their family. They are facing a long and challenging road ahead, and right now, I ask that you keep them all in your thoughts & prayers. All funds going directly to the family.” Those who wish to donate to the fundraiser can do so here. Locals said the family are well known in the area and described them as "lovely" and "quiet". Ella is understood to have been working as a social worker in Carlow, while Niamh is understood to be a PE teacher. Carlow Parish Priest Fr Thomas Little, who has spoken to affected families, told the Irish Mirror: "The families of the ones that were hurt are hoping to God that they make a speedy recovery. The community is praying for them and we remembered them in our Masses since the car accident. "Those that have lost loved ones are bereft and regret that it has ever happened... There’s no doubt a horrendous accident and the emergency services and the guards and hospitals have responded as best they can to the circumstances."
