Trump’s relationship with aide Natalie Harp becomes family affair as son Eric weighs in The president’s son defended Natalie Harp against attacks from her own brother, calling him ‘absolute trash’ for questioning the aide’s loyalty to Trump - Bookmark - CommentsGo to comments Eric Trump became the latest member of Donald Trump’s inner circle to come to the defense of White House aide Natalie Harp Wednesday, as her close relationship with the president garners intense public interest. On social media, the president’s son defended Harp, declaring that she is “an incredible young woman – a cancer survivor, a genuinely good person, and arguably one of the hardest-working people in the White House.” “She’s deeply committed to my father, to her job, and to this country,” Eric Trump wrote. His remarks were in response to her brother, Preston Harp, calling his sister’s relationship with the president an “unhealthy obsession” during a CNN interview. Eric Trump called Preston Harp “absolute trash” for his comments and insulted his appearance, insisting that Natalie “got all the family genetics.” Harp, a 35-year-old White House aide, has been in the spotlight in recent days for her long-standing, fierce loyalty to the president. It came after CBS News reported that Harp was among the few aides that Trump brought with him on a separate military flight when he discreetly left Turkey last month. Trump was snuck off Air Force One in a catering container in response to a reported Iranian assassination threat. Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff further elevated Harp profile when he invoked her name while criticizing the president at a rally in Georgia over the weekend. Ossoff claimed President Trump would rather “travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace” than do his job. Trump allies have reacted with fury toward Ossoff and others who mention Harp. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung called Ossoff “the biggest cuck loser in politics.” When asked about Ossoff’s comment Tuesday, Trump compared the senator’s appearance to Pee-wee Herman. The White House “Rapid Response” X account then accosted the female CNN reporter who had asked the president about Ossoff’s comment, invoking her children. White House spokesperson Davis Ingle also said in a statement: “Jon Ossoff is a cringeworthy, feminine theatre kid cosplaying as Barack Obama. Nobody gives a s*** what this lightweight loser says.” Conservative political commentator Scott Jennings branded Ossoff a “garbage human.” Harp has worked for Trump for many years and has a reputation for being devoted to him. She’s often seen in close proximity toTrump, carrying papers or large bags. She’s earned the nickname “the human printer” because she carries around a portable printer to provide the president with physical copies of social media posts, flattering op-eds or messages. New details about Harp’s relationship to the president in the past week have fueled further commentary. CNN reported Tuesday that Harp once jumped into the trunk of the president’s SUV in October 2023 as he headed to a court hearing in New York City. The New York Times revealed details of a letter that Harp allegedly wrote the president after a 2023 trip to Scotland, where she apologized for sprinting across great distances to keep up with President Trump’s cart on a golf course. In the letter, she also reportedly apologized for being distracted and “forgetting to eat” and “forgetting to sleep.” She allegedly signed it, “With all my heart, Natalie.” Join our commenting forum Join thought-provoking conversations, follow other Independent readers and see their replies Comments
