Asda has issued an urgent product recall notice, warning customers about a safety issue with one of its products. The supermarket has urged people to stop using the item and return it to the store.
Its Hapello Power Train poses a choking risk to children because it has easily detachable small parts. As a result, the toy has been recalled by Asda.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has also issued a recall notice for the toy train. It said: "The product presents a risk of choking because a small part (the orange steam dome) may easily detach from the top of the train.
"This small part poses a choking risk to young children, particularly those under 36 months of age who have a natural tendency to explore objects by placing them in their mouths. The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011."
The toy is described as a multicoloured battery-powered train. It was sold in stores from August 2024 until February 2026 and has the barcode 5063089308547.
The OPSS added: "The product has been recalled by end users. Owners are advised to stop using the product and keep it out of the reach of young children. Owners should return the product to their nearest ASDA store for a refund."
Asda said: "If you have purchased the Hapello Power Train, please bring it back to your nearest store, where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt. The product was sold between 2024 and 2026.
"We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information, please contact: Asda Customer Relations – 0330 053 0111."

Marks and Spencer has also issued a recall notice this week as one of its products poses an injury risk. Its Hand Painted Jug has been taken off the shelves, and customers have been asked to return it.
The product, a blue-tinted jug with painted leaf decorations, poses a risk because the glass may break during use. Marks and Spencer said: "We have identified a potential safety issue with this product as there is a risk of glass breakage resulting in injury.
"We recommend that you stop using this product immediately. The product is no longer available for sale.
"Please return this product to any M&S store (excl. Outlets or Franchise stores) for a full refund. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused."
The model number is T34/9829D, and the jug was on sale from February 28, 2026, for £18. Any customers who need further information have been told to visit the Marks and Spencer website or call 0333 014 8434.
