One dead in Canada after plane makes emergency landing on road with 10 injured Police in Canada have confirmed one person has died, and 10 injured, in the incident which took place on Thursday afternoon on the outskirts of Prince George One person has died after a plane made an emergency landing on a remote road on Thursday, according to reports. Police in Canada have reportedly confirmed a light aircraft made an emergency landing in British Columbia at around 2:20pm on August 20. It landed on Foothills Boulevard in an incident which involved two other cars. It has now been reported by multiple news outlets that one person in a car has been pronounced dead at the scene. In total, 10 people were hurt in the crash. Two of those were hospitalised, emergency workers said. The extent of the injuries received by occupants of the second car involved is not yet known. "Police are saddened to confirm that there has been one fatality in this incident, an occupant of one of the vehicles," a Royal Canadian Mounted Police spokesperson said, according to CBC . "Any potential injuries to the other vehicle occupants as well as those on board the plane are currently unknown." An investigation has now been launched by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada. Foothills Boulevard is the outskirts of Prince George, a city roughly nine hours’ drive north of Vancouver in rural Canada. The road remains closed as of Friday, and will likely be shut for a long period of time.
