Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may only move back to the UK for six months before heading to Canada Indeed, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are said not yet know exactly how long they intend to stay in the UK following their return next month Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could stay in the UK for as little as six months, it is claimed today.A source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said their return may be just temporary, and they could be looking at a move to Canada or even Australia next. The source said: "It'll be an extended period of time. It could be six months, it could be a year, it could be more. I don't think even they know yet. They might suddenly go, 'Why don't we try Canada for a while?' “They love Canada. 'Why don't we try Australia?' It's one of the great things about having left the institution." Harry and Meghan are planning to relocate from the US later this month with their children; Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, who are due to start at a co-educational private day school. Although the couple are understood to have privately discussed for a couple of years returning to the UK, they made their decision only a week ago when their children's places were confirmed at the school. It is understood that the King was the first person they told. The insider told the Sunday Times: "The stars aligned: it's perfect timing in terms of the children's schooling, there appeared to be a good acting opportunity here [for Meghan] and also the draw of family not just being closer to the King, but the Spencers, with whom Harry is very close. “He and his brother are not speaking, but there are other members of the royal family he remains close to." One royal source described the brothers' relationship as being "in cold storage and not coming out anytime soon." The couple have made it clear they do not want the name of their children's school to be made public. And they want the location of their new home, which is a private, non-royal residence which will be outside London to be kept secret as well. The Mirror had reported last month how Harry, 41, was buoyed by an emotional reunion with the King when he visited the UK for Invictus Games events. It is believed that the organisers of the sporting event - which was founded by the Duke of Sussex to help injured veterans - are planning to invite the monarch to take part in either the opening or closing ceremony, while also hoping he will attend a range of the sporting events to meet competitors. And now it is believed Harry and Meghan will be in the UK for the games, which will take place near Birmingham next year. It is said the couple will reside in the Cotswolds, or close to Althorp, the Spencer family estate in Northamptonshire. Princess Diana spent her teenage years there, and the Sussexes visited the estate with their children last month. But it remains a mystery what Meghan, 45, will do for work here in the UK after a royal expert casted doubt over reported plans she will be in a Netflix drama called The Gentlemen.
