BlackRock Inc. is sounding out buyers for all $671 million of loans held by its TCP Capital Corp. as the firm ramps up efforts to overhaul the troubled private credit fund, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
TCPC’s advisers at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods have begun pitching the assets to a slew of firms including Ares Management Corp., the people said, asking not to be identified as the process is private. Talks with potential buyers are at an early stage, the people added. The fund currently trades at a discount to its net asset value, meaning any sale would also likely be at a discount.
