About 60 people were evacuated and a 98-year-old woman was taken to hospital after a fire broke out in a flat in Hong Kong on Tuesday.
Police said they received multiple reports of the blaze at 488 Hennessy Road in Causeway Bay at 10.59am and that the fire was extinguished by 11.27am.
The 58 people evacuated comprised 25 women and 17 men from the building, plus another 11 men and five women from a bank on the ground floor.
The elderly woman reported feeling unwell and was taken to Ruttonjee Hospital in Wan Chai, police said.
At 11.39am, the Transport Department said all lanes on the section of Percival Street between Hennessy Road and Russell Street remained closed due to the incident, adding that traffic in the area was heavy.
Tram services on the Happy Valley loop were suspended and bus routes 108 and 117 were diverted. Motorists were advised to use alternative routes.
