Maria Clara, a Brazilian tourist, and her family were visiting Victor Lab restaurant in Romagna, Italy on August 19 when she ordered a breakfast of scrambled eggs, juice and coffee. When her food arrived, she noticed the eggs were runny and asked her server for them to be a "little more cooked". The server allegedly scoffed that they "don't make raw eggs here". "In the end, they arrived very soft, but I didn't ask for them to be recooked," she recalled. "I let it go because I didn't want to argue," Clara said. When her receipt arrived, Clara was shocked at what she found. She included the receipt in a one-star Google review of the establishment. It read: "This is pissing me off. Burn the eggs and spit in them." This was flagged with the managers and Clara said the 17-year-old server got "very nervous." He apologized and said it was a joke between him and the chef. The teen tried to throw the receipt away, but she threatened to call the police if he did. The restaurant subsequently apologized to Clara under her review, saying: "The behavior you reported was absolutely inappropriate and in no way reflects the values, customer service, and professional standards we strive to ensure every day." But Victor Lab subsequently uploaded a video to their TikTok account that appeared to mock the incident. The video depicts the restaurant owner as a demanding customer who orders a dish with "spit." "Sometimes it almost makes you laugh when you watch it, but this isn't a laughing matter," she said. "It's serious," said Clara. She reportedly asked that her last name not be shared as she has received death threats.
