It was due to land in Malta at around 10.30am local time (9.30am BST) but had to return to Liverpool just 15 minutes later. An easyJet spokesperson explained the flight landed due to a passenger requiring urgent medical attention. The person in question was met by medical services on arrival and the flight started heading to Malta again this morning. In a statement, a spokesperson told the Liverpool ECHO: "Flight EZY3439 from Liverpool to Malta this morning returned to Liverpool, due to a customer onboard requiring urgent medical attention. The customer was met by medical services on arrival and the flight will continue to Malta later this morning. The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority." Flight EZY3439 left Liverpool again at around 9.45am, with the journey to Malta expected to take about three hours. The flight is operated on an Airbus A320, which can carry up to 180 passengers.
