Located on the Roseland Peninsula on the south coast the home is tucked away two miles from the village of Portscatho - 17 miles away from Truro and 19 miles away from Newquay airport. The estate includes a Grade II listed manor house, a stable block, a lodge and a cottage all set within 183 acres of gardens, woodland and arable pasture. It also has more than a mile of direct frontage to Gerrans Bay. The beach runs between Portscatho and the cliffs of Nare Head with most of it unspoiled and accessible only on foot or by water. But the coastal property doesn’t come cheap and is up for sale for a huge £12.5 million. It’s also the first time the property has been on the market since 2003, before that the house hadn’t been sold since 1945, according to Country Life. The property boasts six bedrooms, six receptions rooms and four bathrooms, it has four poster beds, copper stand alone baths, exotic wallpaper and a dedicated flower room. It has a modern kitchen, a study and a breakfast room. Within the grounds there is a Grade II-listed, three-bedroom lodge, plus a three-bedroom farm cottage and a one-bedroom groom’s flat. Rosteague Manor on the estate dates back to 1363 and Ralph de Restak was its first recorded resident. Later in the 16th century it was owned by the Mohun family before being sold to Nicholas Kempe in 1620 and stayed in the family for generations.
