Kriti Sanon has finally responded after her recent Rakshabandhan jewellery commercial sparked massive backlash online. Several social media users criticised the outfit she wore in the ad, with many claiming it resembled a bralette rather than traditional festive wear. The controversy escalated after actress Kangana Ranaut also weighed in, calling it "intentionally creepy." Kriti has now shared a heartfelt note on Instagram, defending her choice and questioning why women continue to be judged based on their clothing. Kriti Sanon addresses backlash Taking to her Instagram Story, Kriti addressed the criticism head-on. She wrote, "The essence of festivals is not in the clothes you wear; it is in the emotions and meaning you hold for the traditions. Rakshabandhan is a bond of protection. My sister and I tie rakhi to each other. We know we can protect each other no less than a brother would have. We pray for each other's health, happiness & long life. And for us, this prayer and promise extends to our dogs too!" The actress didn't stop there. She went on to question the constant policing of women's clothing choices, she added, "After all, they are family! Also, when will we stop telling women what to wear?? Ethnic fashion has evolved over the years, but still a woman's respect for her culture is measured with just her clothes!!" She ended her note with a powerful line: "Culture & Traditions are in her heart, not in her neckline!" Kriti Sanon's work front On the work front, Kriti Sanon was last seen in 'Cocktail 2', directed by Homi Adajania. The movie is a spiritual sequel to 2012's 'Cocktail', starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty.
