NFL Rivalries uniforms revealed for AFC South, NFC North teams

Eight new squads unveiled their threads for the second edition of the NFL's Rivalries uniform series. The AFC South and NFC North teams will each wear special uniforms for a home game against a division rival. The Indianapolis Colts will be the first team to debut a Rivalries uniform this campaign when they face the Houston Texans in Week 3. The Chicago Bears are the last to do so in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers. Last season, teams from the AFC East and NFC West rang in the new initiative, which the league says is meant to celebrate rivalries in the NFL. Each design is created in collaboration with the team, Nike and the league. The uniforms will remain in each team's rotation for three years alongside its existing alternate looks. The NFC East and AFC West squads will unveil theirs next season, and the NFC South and AFC North round out the first batch in 2028. NFC West and AFC East teams will continue to wear their designs this season. Here's a breakdown of each uniform design, plus the date of its on-field debut, its unique name and quotes from select teams. Chicago Bears One of the oldest squads in the NFL, Chicago leans into that rich history in a modern way with a look that pays homage to founder George Halas' legacy and the team's "historic resilience." A patch honoring Halas appears on the front of the jersey, similar to what the team wore in 1983 after his death. The Bears' burnt orange and deep blue colorway is a classic. The vertical stripe detail on the sleeves is a reinterpretation of a staple design element, and the four stars of the city's flag are referenced on it. Chicago first wore orange pants in the 1930s, and it will return with classic-modern detailing for this design. "Monsters of the Midway" runs on the back of the neckline. On-field debut: Week 16 vs. Green Bay Packers Detroit Lions Detroit is looking forward to the future while highlighting the city's legacy as "a hub for innovation." The primary white uniform includes Honolulu blue scattered throughout, a key color in the Lions' palette. Of course, there are elements to the city's car and racing culture -- the sleek carbon-fiber-italicized numerals -- as well as the "Defend the Den" mentality, with a shoulder-pad pattern mimicking a lion's gaze. "Defend the Den" also appears on the back neckline. On-field debut: Week 8 vs. Minnesota Vikings Green Bay Packers The Packers have been a publicly owned, nonprofit corporation since 1923 with just over 530,000 stockholders. It creates a different bond with the fans, one that the new uniform taps into on various levels. The design is meant to honor the unique tradition and Vince Lombardi-era legacy in a fresh look for fans. A retro-style "GB" logo appears on the front. Green Bay's uniform includes a "vintage, desaturated green" paired with an "alabaster palette." It pays homage to the Packers' six stock sales over 107 years: 1923, 1935, 1950, 1997, 2011 and 2022. "Making history since 1919" appears on the back of the uniform neck. On-field debut: Week 5 vs. Chicago Bears Houston Texans Houston's look refreshes its H-Town identity inspired by three elements: car culture, street art and local texture. It's an all-white design with metallic finishes and chrome details that connect to the city's automobile scene. The blue number set is inspired by Houston's "Be Someone" bridge, which was anonymously painted in 2012 on the city's I-10 and I-45 bridge. "Houston" runs on the back of the uniform with "US" bolded in a blue, similar to the number set. On-field debut: Week 11 vs. Indianapolis Colts Indianapolis Colts Indianapolis' uniform includes classic elements of the team's typical design with twists. The team's signature two-stripe design is a key part of it in a dark blue on the shoulder sleeve with black accents. Anthracite, dark gray and glossy black elements run through the uniform adding "depth and intensity." Different references to the Colts' horseshoe (shoulder sleeve), ironwork and pregame anvil ritual nail home the team tradition. On the back neckline is "For the Shoe." On-field debut: Week 3 vs. Houston Texans Jacksonville Jaguars There are various inspirations for the Jaguars' design, but the most prominent is a simple one: the beach. Florida's coastal culture and urban influence shape the color, a clean cream that pops. What the team describes as a "historically influenced" custom Jaguars script appears across the chest. There's a distinct drop shadow around the number set plus Jaguar-print pant details. "Bold City" is on the back neckline, and the Jaguars' logo runs on the sleeve near metallic chrome accents. On-field debut: Week 8 vs. Indianapolis Colts Minnesota Vikings It's a different purple than what the team usually wears, described as a "deeper, more intimidating" one. There's an ivory palette with carved number details, and the "Vikings" above the numbers has a unique font. On the sleeve is a refined cap inspired by the Viking Knot for a neat design. There are also references to the Gjallarhorn, which according to Norse mythology is used to sound the arrival of the gods. It is blown before the Vikings take the field at home. Similar to the other teams, Minnesota has a message on the back of its uniform. But the Vikings' message is in the runes script. On-field debut: Week 15 vs. Detroit Lions Tennessee Titans Tennessee has a rich history of star musicians, from Dolly Parton to Elvis Presley to Justin Timberlake, among many other greats. And with the Titans playing in Nashville, it's no surprise they leaned into the "Music City" moniker for their design. It's a navy uniform with light blue accents around the "Music City" above the similarly colored numbers. Nashville's famous neon signage inspires the light blue number set. On the shoulder of the uniform are six darker blue strings, meant to celebrate the city's music culture. "WE" runs on the back neckline. On-field debut: Week 10 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
