YouTuber Chhavi Varshney killed as SUV crashes into truck near Ujjain

INDORE: A woman and her daughter were killed and three others seriously injured after an SUV crashed into a truck on the Ujjain-Garoth four-lane road near Ramakhedi village around 6 am on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Sarika and her daughter Chhavi Varshney. Chhavi was a popular YouTuber and had more than two lakh followers on Instgram. Three other passengers — Surajpal, Sachin and Shyam — were seriously injured in the crash. All three were residents of Uttar Pradesh. According to preliminary information, the SUV was travelling behind the truck when its driver apparently lost control and rammed into the vehicle. Front of SUV mangled The collision was so severe that the front portion of the SUV was completely mangled. One of the women was trapped inside the wreckage, prompting rescuers to make considerable efforts to pull her out. The injured were taken to the government community health centre in Barod and later referred to the district hospital in Agar. Police begin probe Barod police reached the accident site and began examining the circumstances that led to the crash. The collision caused chaos on the four-lane road for some time as rescue and relief operations were carried out. Bodies sent for postmortem The bodies of Sarika and Chhavi were taken to the government hospital in Barod in an NHAI ambulance. Police said postmortem examinations would be conducted after the arrival of their family members. A case has been registered.
