Denby Pottery Village is home to the historic Denby Pottery, which has been based on the same Derbyshire site since 1809. Set around a traditional cobbled courtyard, the village has become a popular visitor attraction, combining Denby’s pottery heritage with shops, food and family-friendly experiences. The brand has a whole host that visitors can explore including: - Denby’s flagship Factory Shop, offering current and discontinued collections, as well as seconds and clearance items. - Denby Home Store and Cookshop, stocking homeware and kitchen products. - Gift and garden shops selling a range of items for the home and garden. - Bourne’s Coffee Shop & Bistro, serving breakfasts, lunches, cakes and drinks. - The Denby Museum, where visitors can discover more about the pottery’s long history. - A range of pottery and craft experiences, which have traditionally been a key part of the visitor experience. The sale at Denby Pottery Village in Derbyshire is running throughout this week and across the opening two days of the August bank holiday weekend. This follows as Denby entered administration on March 31, 2026, although its historic Pottery Village has continued to welcome visitors for shopping and food. However, the company’s website currently states that its Craft Studio and Experiences are closed. But now, reports suggest the end could be in sight for the iconic Derbyshire site, with Denby’s remaining UK stores, including the historic Pottery Village, expected to close by Sunday, August 30, 2026, following the company’s financial difficulties. Supporters of the brand have only days remaining to make their last visit to the store and purchase Denby's handmade pottery and crockery at discounted prices. Products begin from just £2, with bundles of four items on offer for between £6 and £12, reports the Express. Denby Pottery called in administrators on March 31 following a slump in demand, alongside soaring energy and labour costs. The very last piece of Denby Pottery — an Imperial Blue glaze bowl — was completed, signed and collected by its designer Richard Eaton on June 8. Tony Wright, Joint Administrator of the Denby group of companies and partner at FRP, said: "It's undoubtedly a sad moment to see the Pottery Village close after so many years as the home of this much-loved British brand." "We wanted to give shoppers and Denby enthusiasts the chance to visit one final time and take home a piece of its heritage." He added that while the shops are closing, the Denby brand itself will carry on under new ownership, ensuring its legacy lives on. Mr Wright said: "We hope as many people as possible will come along and help give the Pottery Village the send-off it deserves." Full list of locations Alongside the historic Denby Pottery Village in Derbyshire, seven other Denby outlets are also set to shut their doors permanently this weekend. Denby Pottery Village is open from 9am to 5pm daily this week, closing at 4pm on Sunday.
