Red Arrows take to UK skies - every location where you can see them The aerobatic team has returned to the UK following a delayed trip that saw them halted in Canada due to inclement weather - and they have immediately launched into a new programme Red Arrows are set to take to the skies across the UK this August bank holiday weekend in a stunning display that will play out for thousands of people. The world-famous aerobatic team have recently returned from the US, where they participated in the high-profile Operation Eagle Hawk in celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence. They returned back in the UK from their tour on August 16 after being stranded in Goose Bay, on Canada's far-eastern flank, where they were forced to miss an appearance at the Lyme Regis RNLI Lifeboat Week due to poor weather. Now safely back home, they will fly in formation across the coast ahead of the English Riviera Airshow - and you can use our interactive map to see where they will perform. Following their high-profile tour of the United States, the Royal Air Force's acclaimed display team is bringing its world-famous formations to airshows and regattas across the country. In a post on social media, Wing Cdr Sasha Nash - who made history as the first woman to lead the legendary Red Arrows - said: "It is great to be home and to now be in a position to perform at the rest of the summer events planned this season. The Red Arrows can't wait to display for aviation fans and families." After a quick flypast in Sweden to celebrate the Swedish Air Force's centenary, the iconic Hawk T1 jets are putting on display routines across Britain and mainland Europe. The famous red, white, and blue trails will carve through the skies at Clacton Airshow on Thursday and Friday, at Sidmouth Regatta and Airshow on Friday, and at Southport Airshow this weekend. You can see the events near you using our interactive map of the Red Arrows 2026 programme. In 2026, the Red Arrows are flying with seven aircraft - Reds 1 to 7 - in aerobatic displays. However, nine jets are used for selected flypasts. Reds 1 to 5 form the front section of the team’s display, known as “Enid” after the Famous Five author Enid Blyton. The rear pair is called ‘Hanna’ after team founder Ray Hanna. Reds 6 and 7 are the popular “Synchro Pair” who perform the opposition manoeuvres in the second half of the show. At each event, the team leader can choose one of three types of display - full, rolling, or flat - depending on the cloud conditions on the day. If the skies are clear or cloud coverage is higher than 5,500ft, the team will perform a full looping display. On a cloudy day, the team could perform either the rolling display - substituting loops for wing-overs and loops - or, if clouds are below 2,500ft, a flat display, made of flypasts and steep turns.
