The King has been in Balmoral since early August, and is expected to return to his royal duties in early September. The monarch was also spotted in Balmoral on Friday in a convoy of vehicles, also containing the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Anne and Duchess Sophie, as the royals made their way to a church service. The photos of Charles emerged after he issued a statement about the devastating floods in Nepal and Tibet. The King said he and the Queen were “heartbroken” and sent their “most profound sympathy” to those affected, adding: “Many in the United Kingdom have strong, deep and personal ties to this part of the world.” The Prince and Princess of Wales issued a separate statement of their own about the tragedy, writing on their Instagram stories: “The scale of the devastation along the Nepal-China border is shocking. We are thinking of everyone caught up in this terrible disaster. “Our thoughts are especially with the families facing an unbearable wait for news and with the communities confronting such immense loss. We are incredibly grateful to all those working in such dangerous conditions to rescue people and support those affected.” They signed the message ‘W&C’. Two teenagers, a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy are among the 33 British nationals believed to be unaccounted for, as the total number of missing people in Nepal rose from 403 to 826. Flash floods caused rivers to burst their banks and covered populated areas in thick mud, burying houses and creating difficult conditions for rescuers, while 353 people have been confirmed dead. The royals’ statements on the catastrophic floods came after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and along with their children Archie, seven, and five-year-old Lilibet, arrived at Birmingham Airport at lunchtime on Wednesday, just one week after their move back to Harry’s home country was announced.
