His case will be heard in the Supreme Court at Mackay on a date to be set.
A 33-year-old man accused of murdering a South Mackay woman has been committed to trial in the Supreme Court.
Ryan Geoffrey Cole is alleged to have shot 34-year-old Natalie Frahm as she sat in a car outside her suburban home on June 19, 2024.
He is also charged with the attempted murder of then-66-year-old James McGill, who was allegedly shot when rushing to help Ms Frahm.
He has not entered a plea to the two charges.
Mr Cole appeared in the Mackay Magistrates Court on Tuesday via video link as nine people gave evidence.
Mr McGill told the court that on the day of the alleged shooting, he had approached Ms Frahm's vehicle and saw Mr Cole nearby.
"He walked straight up to me and said, 'You won't remember my face'," Mr McGill said.
The court heard the pair was just over an arm's length away from each other.
"I was on the road, he was on the top of the gutter … he had the gun pointed at my head, and pulled the trigger," he said.
Friends, family and associates of Mr Cole who were cross-examined during the committal hearing were asked about the accused's mental health.
The four witnesses described Mr Cole as previously having delusions, including that he was in a relationship with a famous person, that he was possessed, and that he was under surveillance by the military.
Magistrate Bronwyn Hartigan said there was enough evidence against Mr Cole for the case to progress to the Supreme Court on a date to be set.
