Dyson launches a new toothbrush – I asked a dentist their opinion

Key Points

After six years in development, Dyson has launched its first toothbrush: the Dyson CameraJet. Given this is the company that brought us bladeless fans and bagless vacuums, it was never going to be a standard brush – if anything, it could risk being over-engineered. In early July, I was one of the first in the world to see the brush.

In a secret briefing at Dyson’s press office in London, a locked silver briefcase sat on the table, shortly to be opened. My first impressions of the brush? It had the same aesthetic as many Dyson products – bulkier than necessary, but distinctive and exciting. It brushes, flosses and mouth-washes in one, and as the name suggests, there’s a camera that you can pair with a smartphone app and watch a live feed, if you so wish. It’s available to buy for £419.99 in Dyson Demo Stores and selected retailers.
