CFMEU delegate charged with dealing drugs at Melbourne work sites

Police investigating corruption in the construction sector have charged a CFMEU delegate with dealing drugs at construction sites across Melbourne. Officers from Taskforce Hawk arrested the 35-year-old Mulgrave man on Thursday, as well as a 32-year-old Fitzroy man and an 18-year-old Fitzroy woman. Police raided properties at Mulgrave, Heathmont and Fitzroy early on Thursday morning. The 35-year-old man has been charged with trafficking anabolic steroids, possessing prescription drugs, possessing a drug of dependence, possessing a prohibited weapon and possessing a controlled weapon. The 32-year-old man faces charges including trafficking anabolic steroids, drug possession, dealing with the proceeds of crime and possessing a prohibited weapon. Both men were bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court in January. The 18-year-old Fitzroy woman was released on summons. Police will allege the trio was involved in importing drugs and steroids through the mail and selling them at construction sites across Melbourne. During raids at the three properties, police seized a large quantity of steroids and peptides, drug paraphernalia, a large amount of cash, a quantity of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis, electronic devices, a taser, two extendable batons and OC spray.
