Auctioneers have been appointed to sell Loe Beach near the quaint village of Feock, five miles of south of Truro. The property includes 6.2 acres of land, around 78 metres of foreshore, a private beach extending to the low mean water point, a car park, boat storage, a café, watersports facilities and grazing land. Described as a 'once in a generation' opportunity to own 'a heaven for watersports with immediate access to the Fal river', auctioneers Vickery Holman told Cornwall Live: "This is a truly special location to include the beach to low mean water, a rare and commercially positive situation." However, unease is now spreading over the sale of the beach beloved by locals and tourists alike for generations throughout the parish of Feock, one of Cornwall's most expensive postcodes. Feock Parish Council is set to deliberate over the sale at a forthcoming meeting later this month, prompted by numerous concerned residents who have raised alarm bells over the prospect of the cherished beach changing hands. "Loe Beach is a much-loved and valuable community facility and we understand the strength of feeling about its future," the parish council stated. Members of the public are welcome to attend and speak during the public participation session at the start of the next council meeting on Monday, September 21. Positioned along the western shore of the Fal Estuary, Loe Beach is widely celebrated amongst locals and holidaymakers for its peaceful surroundings and immediate access to Carrick Roads. Its prime location nestled between Falmouth and St Mawes renders it particularly sought-after for sailing and watersports enthusiasts, while Truro lies roughly five miles away. The current owners generate income from the car park and rental payments from commercial businesses operating on site. Current amenities comprise a café, watersports facilities, equipment rental services, Efoil, parking provision and boat storage. The estate presents potential buyers wih the choice of maintaining existing arrangements or 'sensitively improving' facilities, subject to obtaining requisite permissions. A spokesperson from Vickery Holman, managing the sale, added: "Having been in family ownership over many generations and is now available by way of informal tender. "The land holding available provides for the beach side car park, which doubles as boat storage, café and 'top field' to the rear. "Ample opportunity exists for a new owner to either maintain the status quo or to sensitively improve facilities. Either way this is a special piece of real estate."
