Its Waitrose Rhubarb Crumble contains oats (gluten), which is not declared on the label, so could pose an allergy risk. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has also issued a recall notice for the pudding. It said: "This product contains gluten, making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to oats or gluten, or with coeliac disease." The FSA advice reads: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to oats or gluten or have coeliac disease, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund. "For more information, contact Waitrose Customer Care on 0800 188 884 (option 4)." Recalled product Waitrose Rhubarb Crumble - Pack size - 500g - Use by - August 19, 2026 While the use-by date has passed, Waitrose explained that the product has home-freezing instructions, so customers may still have the pudding. Waitrose's recall notice urges: "Please check your home freezer for product. Do not consume. Package up item. Return the product to your local Waitrose & Partners branch for a refund." It added: "We apologise that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused." Last week, another recall alert was issued for a range of chicken wraps. Summit Foods recalled the Snacksters Chicken Fajita Wrap, Snacksters Hoi Sin Wrap, East Street Deli Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap, and Target a Snack Chicken Fajita Wrap due to the possible presence of Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC). The recall applies to all use-by dates up to and including September 5, 2026. The FSA warned people who have bought any of the affected wraps not to eat them and to dispose of them instead. Provide proof of purchase to [email protected], stating when and where it was purchased, to request a refund. The Snacksters Chicken Fajita wrap has been sold at Iceland, which has issued a recall notice of its own. Iceland said: "If you have purchased, please dispose of immediately and DO NOT CONSUME, then provide proof of purchase on [email protected], stating when and where purchased. Safety and quality is our first priority and we apologise for the inconvenience caused." Summit Foods added: "As part of our routine testing, we have identified a potential food safety issue affecting a small number of our wrap products. We are working closely with the authorities and our customers to recall the affected products. Consumer safety remains our highest priority. We are sorry for any concern or inconvenience this may cause."
