Meghan Markle may not appear in public for weeks after moving back to UK with Prince Harry The Duchess of Sussex has kept a low profile since returning to Britain in July, while Prince Harry is preparing for a string of charity engagements in the UK Meghan Markle may stay out of the public eye for weeks as she focuses on helping her children settle into their new life in Britain. The Duchess of Sussex is said to be prioritising Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, as they adjust to their new schools and home following the family’s move back to the UK. Meghan has kept a low profile including when she returned in July for a brief visit and since officially returning she is yet to have made a public appearance in Britain. Prior to the move, she had not been seen in the UK since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral four years ago. It could now be several weeks before Meghan makes a return to public appearances, despite Prince Harry preparing to step back into the spotlight with a string of appearances in the UK. A source told the Sun: “There are a lot of things to arrange. Meghan is totally focused on getting the kids settled for now.” The Duke of Sussex is expected to attend the annual WellChild Awards later this month as he increases his charity work in Britain. With more reports that he could carry out a skydive in aid of military charities after making a promise to 102-year-old veteran Ed Marshall during a visit to Toronto, Canada, last November. One event the Sussexes will not attend together is an upcoming gala for the Diana Award in London. Reports suggested Harry and Meghan could appear at a dinner at Raffles London at The OWO, in Whitehall, on September 18, but their spokesperson has rejected the claim. Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson told the Mirror: “Despite the Daily Mail’s reporting to the contrary, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not scheduled to attend a Diana Award event at Raffles Hotel, OWO London, on 18 September.” Meghan had previously been expected to join Harry at two events following their return to Britain but did not ultimately attend either. However, the family have spent time travelling together since their move, with Meghan sharing photographs from a visit to Althorp, the Spencer family’s Northamptonshire estate and childhood home of Princess Diana. They have also travelled to the Scottish Highlands as Archie and Lilibet begin adjusting to life on this side of the Atlantic. While Meghan’s immediate attention is understood to be on her family, she could also have acting work on the horizon. She remains in talks over a potential role in The Gentlemen, with the hit series expected to begin filming its third season soon. The Sussexes’ return to Britain is also understood to give Harry more opportunity to concentrate on his charity work in the UK, with the duke expected to undertake a number of engagements in the coming weeks.
