In a message shared on RIP.ie, her family expressed their "deepest appreciation" to the "paramedics, doctors, and staff at Ryanair, Shannon Airport, and Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust for all their care and support at this difficult time". Aoife’s sudden death has left her family and friends heartbroken, with her loved ones remembering her as a "very kind and bubbly" young woman. One mourner said: "Sincerest condolences to Joe, Mary, Ciara and the extended McCarthy and O’Brien families on the heartbreaking loss of Aoife. A lovely young girl who was always laughing or smiling. May she rest in peace." Another person added: "My deepest condolences to Mary, Joe, Ciara, Aunty Helen and all the O'Brien and McCarthy family on the sad passing of Aoife. Aoife was such a lovely young lady, very funny and such a charming person. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. R.i.p Cousin Aoife." A close friend said: "RIP Aoife such a lovely funny down to earth girl. You made a big impact rip love." Aoife’s funeral is understood to have taken place on Saturday at St John the Baptist Church in Fedamore. Her family had asked mourners to wear bright colours, "something yellow if possible", to reflect Aoife’s "love of colour". Her family has asked that anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory donate to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, a charity that helps families bring loved ones who have died abroad home to Ireland.
