David Beckham gushes over Victoria as he snubs Brooklyn and Nicola's Venice debut Former footballer David Beckham, 51, said that he was "so proud" of his wife as she opened her fashion store in New York Sir David Beckham lavished Lady Victoria with praise on Sunday over her big career achievement. The former footballer, 51, said that he was "so proud" of his wife as she opened her fashion store in New York. Taking to Instagram, he shared photos of the store, writing "NYC elegance" and "Beautiful @victoriabeckham." His support of Victoria is comparable to that of his eldest son Brooklyn's of wife Nicola Peltz as she accepted an award at the Venice Film Festival this weekend, though David remained silent on social media over their debut in the Italian city. On Saturday, Nicola credited husband Brooklyn in helping her "reach to the stars" as she accepted her Rising Star award. The 31-year-old looked stunnng in an elegant floor-length halterneck plunge gown as she stepped up to receive her award. Taking to the mic, she paid tribute to her family and husband while her billionaire father Nelson Peltz, mother Cladia and brother Bradley sat next to Brooklyn. She told the crowd: "Hi everyone. I am normally more comfortable playing a character as an actor than standing in front of an audience, so please bear with me. "Thank you so much for this immense honour. To receive an award at the Venice Film Festival is something I will carry with me for the rest of my career." Speaking of her co-star Faye Dunaway, she said: "Faye you have always been an inspiration to me and learning with you has been incredible." She added: "My family are my everything. My mum, dad, (brothers) Diesel and Brad and Brooklyn thank you. You always believe in me. To have your support is the reason I can reach to the stars in the first place." Nicola was 11 years old when she made her acting debut in Deck the Halls with Danny Devito in 2006. She also starred in Transformers: The Age of Extinction and The Last Airbender. Nicola's husband Brooklyn is never short of words of adoration for his wife. Last month, she shared some photos to celebrate their anniversary. He wrote: "Happy anniversary Nicola I can’t tell you how much I love you x you are my best friend and I love you more than life itself xx I am so lucky to be able to call you my wife xx you are my absolute princess and I promise to always protect you xx." Brooklyn remains estranged from his family after he and Nicola became embroiled in a family feud with parents Victoria and David Beckham. In an unprecedented statement, Brooklyn said in January he had no intention of ever reconciling with his family and blasted their "performative social media posts" and "inauthentic relationships". Brooklyn made a string of allegations about his parents' behaviour at his wedding, accusing his mum of cancelling making Nicola Peltz's dress "at the eleventh hour" and he also accused his mum of "dancing very inappropriately on me in front of everyone".
