A third person who has also been charged cannot be named for legal reasons. Emergency services swarmed Market Place on August 31 to reports of a shooting. Officers then recovered a shotgun and ammunition at the scene. Essex Police has confirmed three people have been charged with attempted murder and named two of the alleged suspects - Destiny Ema, age 23, and Kayden Brown, 18. The third, a 17-year-old boy, cannot be named due to his age. The trio were arrested following the incident in Market Place. The force's current working theory is the shooting was linked to the sale of drugs, Essex Live reports. Two teenagers sustained serious injuries to their face and upper body while a third person was also injured. Ema, of Meadgate Avenue, Chelmsford, Brown, of Noakes Avenue, Chelmsford, and the 17 year-old, who’s from Braintree, are all due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (September 7). Ema has also been charged with a number of offences in connection with separate investigations, including attempted GBH with intent, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, possession of a firearm while committing an indictable offence and harassment. Detective Inspector Frazer Low said when the trio were arrested in connection with the incident: "These arrests are the result of days of intensive work by officers and staff, and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident. While we continue to believe this incident is linked to a dispute connected to criminal drug activity, our enquiries have established that none of those injured were involved in that offending. "I would like to thank the community for their patience and support since Monday night. We know an incident of this nature, in such a prominent public location, will have caused concern. We remain committed to keeping our communities safe and are grateful for the information and assistance we have received from the public."
