Salmonella cases in the UK have soared as a probe into imported eggs continues and doctors issue a warning to the public. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) today revealed there has been a total of 322 confirmed cases of Salmonella and one death, linked to a specific cluster bacteria, in England. The UKHSA, on September 1, previously shared there were 305 confirmed cases in the country and one death. That's a rise of 17 cases within a seven-day period. These latest figures range from data collected between 11 August 2025 and 21 August 2026. The UKHSA warned that the recent cases have been associated with eating at a range of food spots, including small cafés, restaurants and takeaway businesses.
