A number of road closures are in place in the West Yorkshire town following the crash this morning. The police said the incident took place in the Heaton Road area of Paddock, with drivers asked to use alternative routes. There are reports an air ambulance landed on Heaton Road, which is close to Paddock Junior, Infant and Nursery School. Colne Valley East councillor Brian Moughtin explained the crash happened just after 7.45am today. A large emergency service response was sent to the scene. Cllr Moughtin said: "At this time, the investigation is at its early stages and ongoing. I am aware this has caused some disruption to the local area. I would ask that you continue to provide reassurance within your communities." A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Please note that road closures are in place after a car struck a wall in the Heaton Road area of Paddock this morning. Emergency services are in attendance and traffic is being diverted via Branch Street. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes if they can." There are also reports that the nearby school is closed but these have not been confirmed, according to Yorkshire Live.
