Police and paramedics were called to Maltby Crags Fair this evening (Friday) following reports of an incident on a ride. South Yorkshire Police said three children, aged between 11 and 13, suffered minor injuries. The incident is understood to have happened at around 7.30pm. At least six police vehicles attended the scene, according to local outlet The Star. A force spokesperson earlier said: "Emergency services are currently in attendance at an incident at Maltby Crags Fair in Rotherham after three young people aged between 11 and 13 suffered minor injuries while on a ride. "They have been taken to hospital as a precaution and for treatment and the fairground has now closed for the evening (11 September). "Blyth Lane was closed between Muglet Lane and Victoria Road to allow people to safely exit the fairground but has since been reopened." Former Rother Valley MP Alexander Stafford wrote on Facebook: "News from the fair in Maltby, where a ride has reportedly injured a child. I believe only one child is involved, but please check on your children if they are currently there."
