This indicates that temperatures should rise above the seasonal average. Friday September 25 is expected to be the warmest day. The data shows potential highs of 29C at around midday in the east of England, with 27C possible quite widely across central, eastern and southern regions. By 6pm, the data shows highs of 30C are possible in eastern areas, with 28-29C on the cards across much of the rest of England. In total, the maps suggest 20 counties could see highs of 28C or more. They are all in England. The Met Office forecast for September 16 to 25 states: “Remaining changeable, with occasional rain or showers arriving from the North Atlantic, most frequent across northern and western parts of the UK, where some strong winds will also be possible at times. “However, there will also be some reasonably dry and more settled periods interspersed, especially across southern areas. Temperatures for the period as a whole will probably be close to average overall, but there is scope for some rather warm days at times, along with occasional relatively cool nights giving the occasional grass frost.”
