The warning has been issued for the Volta VT40IT Incline Treadmill, stocked by retailer Fitness Superstore. Safety officials discovered a serious fault in specific production batches that can lead the treadmill to overheat while in operation. Authorities caution that should the machine overheat, it could catch fire and spark a hazardous blaze within the property. The product fails to meet the legal requirements set out under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. The national product safety notification (PSD ref: 2608-0247) was officially issued by Local Authority Trading Standards last week. The affected models are described as black treadmills with side handles, a digital display panel, and adjustable incline settings. Made in China, the impacted units were purchased by UK customers who ordered between July 2025 and November 2025. Anyone who possesses this treadmill model is advised to take swift action to safeguard their property. Safety instructions state that owners must turn off the treadmill immediately and disconnect it from the mains power supply. Once the treadmill has been completely unplugged from the mains, owners should locate the serial number label on the underside of the machine's main frame. The recall specifically applies to machines with the serial number 04-VT40IT-50133099 (or any serial number containing 50133099). Fitness Superstore has confirmed it is reaching out to affected customers directly, but is urging anyone who believes they may own one of the impacted machines to get in touch without delay. The retailer will arrange a free collection of the faulty treadmill and issue a full refund. In circumstances where collection cannot reasonably be organised, Fitness Superstore may permit the owner to safely dispose of the machine locally. A full refund will then be processed once the company receives proof of disposal alongside a signed declaration.
