New Lidl £8 fashion item similar to £298 luxury brand version out this Thursday Customers don't have long to wait as the new item lands in stores later this week Lidl is releasing a new clothing item that could be mistaken for a high-end brand at a glance. The fashion piece is coming out this Thursday, September 17, and could save shoppers £100s. The budget supermarket updates its Middle Aisle every Thursday and Sunday with new Special Buy deals. This week, customers can expect a new range of clothing and accessories, including pieces that could be affordable alternatives to pricier brands. Shoppers can view what's coming out in advance on Lidl's website. From Thursday, shoppers will be able to buy Lidl's new Esmara Ladies' Black Gilet for £7.99. The faux-fur garment is made from 100% polyester, and it comes in sizes small, medium, and large. The product description reads: "High-quality faux fur. Full button fastening and pockets." People keen to update their wardrobe for autumn may be interested in gilets, as they provide warmth on cool days without the bulk or overheating of a full, heavy coat. Shoppers can only buy Special Buy deals in stores, as Lidl does not offer home delivery or online ordering. Stock will be available from Thursday, but as the supermarket says, once it's gone, it's gone. The £8 Lidl gilet could be a budget-friendly option for anyone who likes the look of Brora's Sheepskin Gilet, in black, which is currently on sale for £298, down from £635 as part of a clearance sale. Both gilets share features such as a V-shaped neckline, four buttons, and black material, with a similar overall design. There are still some differences, however, besides price: Brora's buttons are slightly larger, and the V-shaped neckline is slightly deeper. Unlike Lidl's polyester gilet, the Brora gilet is made from sheepskin, meaning it isn't suitable for vegetarians or vegans. While both share similar features, it is up to shoppers to decide which one they prefer in terms of looks and design. Lidl's option could be more affordable for anyone who wants a Brora 'lookalike' but needs to stick to a budget. The product description for the Brora gilet online reads: "Exquisitely made and tailored to exacting standards in our London atelier as part of a limited run, this stylish merino sheepskin layer has statement buttons, a slight V-neckline and leather-bound edges." It currently has a customer rating of 4.8 stars out of five. One person said: "The gilet is so cosy and warm, I love it and so do my friends!! Great fit." Another wrote: "I absolutely loved this - it's very soft and flexible, and a beautiful colour. Very very sadly it is not quite the right cut for me, so I very strong mindedly sent it back".
