Federal funding delays put Alice Springs youth centre rebuild in jeopardy

A $20 million federal funding commitment to redevelop a youth centre in Alice Springs has been delayed, putting the service in jeopardy. Gap Youth Centre chief executive Leon Tripp says his application for a contract variation could take up to two months which would risk losing building contractors available for stage one of the redevelopment. Member for Lingiari Marion Scrymgour said she would meet with the federal infrastructure minister's office to work through the issues.
