The hottest places next week, particularly on Friday September 25, will include parts of Essex, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, where 26C is likely. The WX Charts, driven by data from Metdesk, highlight the East of England and parts of the Southeast of England will see the best of the sunshine. But, as the Express reports, Birmingham should see a high of 21C during the coming week and it is set to reach 20C in Manchester. Even these figures are greater than the average for this time of the year. Meteorologists say the change in conditions is as a result of a band of high pressure sweeping north over the UK. Scotland, though, is predicted to be significantly cooler than southern England, with temperatures predominantly in the mid-to-high teens. The milder spell arrives as the Met Office indicates that much of Britain could experience increasingly warm conditions throughout the latter half of September. Its extended forecast covering Monday, September 21 to Wednesday, September 30 states: "The first part of this period will likely see a build of pressure across much of the UK, with Atlantic weather fronts becoming more confined to northern and northwestern areas. "As such, plenty of dry and increasingly warm and perhaps rather humid weather will develop, whilst the bulk of the rain and possible strong winds are more likely to affect the northwest of the UK. "Many areas may remain mostly settled towards the end of September, but there is the possibility of areas of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic bringing more widely unsettled conditions by the end of the month."
