Parts of the UK are forecast to be warmer than Athens with temperatures climbing to 25C, whereas Greece's capital is only expected to reach 24C. Large parts of England are expected to climb to the mid twenties with the south likely to be the warmest region. According to the Met Office the warmest conditions are expected on Tuesday, with much of the south-east climbing to 25C. Netweather weather maps also show temperatures expected to climb above 20C across most of England on Monday and Wednesday. The Met Office forecast for next week states: "Dry with sunny spells for most on Tuesday and rather warm. A spell of heavy rain moves through on Thursday, followed by a dry, bright and fresh day on Thursday." According to Netweather maps at 3pm on Tuesday London will reach 25C, with East Sussex also reaching the mid twenties. Much of the East and West Midlands is also expected to climb to 24C, the same temperature as Greece. Further north in Cheshire temperatures will reach around 23C according to the maps, with parts of Yorkshire also expected to reach 22C. By 6pm, much of the south will remain at 25C with parts of the South West also warming up. Areas hotter than Greece: - East Sussex - South London - North London - Kent - Surrey - Berkshire - Lincolnshire - Dorset - Hampshire - Leicestershire The meteorologists are predicting four consecutive days of temperatures climbing above 20C. The scorching conditions come after the UK's hottest summer, and marks the final hot spell before the autumn. From Wednesday evening, 'overnight fog and frost' may be on the cards but ‘temperatures are expected to be slightly above average overall’.
