Hong Kong plans to expand the Dim Sum bond market and develop the yuan-denominated gold and commodity markets to further enhance the city’s financial role and pricing power, Financial Secretary Paul Chan wrote in his weekly blog Sunday.
The national 15th Five-Year Plan proposes to accelerate the construction of a financial powerhouse, and Hong Kong’s role is clear and unique, including providing a safe and reliable offshore platform that is fully aligned with international rules, Chan said.
