Adele rebuilds Stallone's $58M Beverly Park mansion she bought in 2022

Adele has completely torn down and rebuilt the Beverly Hills compound she bought from actor Sylvester Stallone, turning the 3.5-acre estate into a custom home while keeping a bronze statue of Rocky Balboa. The singer bought the 1,700-square-metre property in the gated Beverly Park community in 2022 for $58 million (£46 million). The house was originally listed for $110 million before Stallone lowered the price, according to the Los Angeles Times. Despite the major changes, the bronze sculpture near the infinity pool has stayed in place. Demolition work begins at Beverly Park Aerial photos published by celebrity news outlet TMZ showed construction workers stripping the eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom house down to its foundations. The entire second floor, interior walls, and traditional Mediterranean-style exterior were removed as part of the complete rebuild. According to local property records, the original house was built in 1994 after Stallone bought the land. Architect Richard Landry designed the property, which included a screening room, cigar lounge, custom bar, and an eight-car garage. Bronze statue kept in its original spot During negotiations for the property, Stallone planned to take the poolside statue of his famous film character, Rocky Balboa. However, Adele insisted that the artwork stay on the property as part of the deal. Stallone confirmed this condition in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. "She said, 'That's a no-deal. That's gonna blow the whole deal,'" Stallone told the newspaper. "She wanted the statue." Stallone also said he was happy with the changes Adele was making to the estate. "I like what she's doing, she's making it gorgeous," Stallone said in the same interview. Multi-million-dollar project could take years Experts estimate that the full cost of construction, redesign, and interior work could be close to the original purchase price. "When it's all said and done, it's reasonable to expect the investment for the finished and furnished home could be equivalent to what she paid for it, upwards of $50 million," interior design specialist Leigh Anne Raines told property outlet Supercar Blondie. "It may be another five years, easily another three, from completion." Brazilian outlet Caras reported that the main swimming pool and the surrounding deck were among the few original parts left untouched. This means the bronze Rocky statue can continue to overlook the valley. Major change in architectural style The decision to tear down much of the mansion surprised local real estate observers because of the home's size and history. Stallone spent decades personalising the property, which he often called "the house that Rocky built," according to Globe Magazine. However, contractors working with luxury builder Valle Reinis removed the classic terracotta roof and Spanish-style arches. The new home has a much more modern design, with huge floor-to-ceiling glass panels to bring in natural light and offer wide views of the Los Angeles basin. The redesign also includes updated fire-safety measures. According to Music News, the property is in a designated Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. The new roof follows modern local safety rules introduced after severe wildfires across Southern California. Construction causes disruption and delays The large-scale rebuild has caused some tension in North Beverly Park, an exclusive neighborhood known for its high-profile residents. Local media reports say heavy machinery, delivery trucks, and construction crews have been using the private road for months. Work on the home began soon after the sale closed in 2022. Supply chain problems and updated building-code approvals have pushed the project well beyond its original timeline. The finished home will be used by Adele, her son Angelo, and her fiancé, sports agent Rich Paul. Plans submitted to the local building department show larger living areas and improved security around the 3.5-acre property. Expansion across nearby properties The renovation is also part of a larger effort by Adele to build up her property holdings in Southern California. The singer has bought four separate homes in the Beverly Hills area over the past decade, including nearby properties once owned by musician Nicole Richie and television host Ellen DeGeneres. Construction on the main Beverly Park home is still underway. Local building permits show plans for a single-family home with a redesigned roofline, stronger security barriers, and larger landscaped areas across the estate.
