Emergency services raced to Eastbourne seafront just after 5pm on Sunday following reports of a serious assault. Sussex Police said the incident unfolded in Grand Parade near the junctions with Elms Avenue and Cavendish Place. The boy was found seriously hurt, having sustained injuries consistent with a stabbing, and was airlifted to hospital, police said. Police are now working to locate a group of young people who were spotted leaving the scene, with an increased police presence in the area. Witnesses or anyone with footage of the incident have been urged to contact officers. A spokesperson for Sussex Police said officers will be in the area "to provide reassurance" to the local community and while enquiries continue. The force added: "Witnesses or anyone with information, such as CCTV, mobile phone, or dashcam footage is asked to come forward."
