Woman 'raped inside parked car' in Liverpool city centre as police issue urgent plea A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape following the alleged attack at Albert Dock in Liverpool city centre - now police are looking to speak to a woman A woman has allegedly been raped inside a car parked at Albert Docks in Liverpool city centre. Police rushed to the scene at about 4am on July 19. Merseyside Police said a man aged 21 from Newton Le Willows was arrested on suspicion of rape and later bailed with conditions. The force have now released CCTV pictures of a woman they wish to speak to as officers believe she may have "vital information" about the attack. The woman has been asked to come forward and, likewise, anyone who has any information about her identity is urged to contact the police. Merseyside Police stated the woman is "not in trouble" but the information she potentially holds could help officers. This comes after CCTV and witness enquiries were conducted in the area, the police said. Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy said: "We take reports of any sexual offences in our city centre very seriously and, although an arrest has been made, our detectives are still working to establish what happened in the early hours of Sunday 19 July at the Albert Docks. "We think the woman pictured may have vital information that could help an ongoing police investigation. "Therefore I am appealing directly to this woman or anyone who recognises her from these images to come forward and contact us. "I would also like to reassure the woman that she is not in trouble and any information she gives could really support our enquiries.2If you recognise her and have any information, please let us know as we continue to investigate."
