Thousands of flyers were impacted on September 21, after the Federal Aviation Administration ordered a ground stop for flights bound for Newark Liberty, Teterboro and Philadelphia airports. Dozens of planes were left idling on runways while the FAA said it was dealing a technology breakdown at Philadelphia’s Terminal Radar Approach Control, or TRACON, facility. Flights stopped shortly after 10am local time at Newark and then also began at Teterboro and Philadelphia airports.
