Met Office maps show heavy downpours for 12 counties on Tuesday - full list Brits in 12 counties across the UK have been told to brace themselves for downpours tomorrow as a weather front makes its way over the country starting early on Tuesday morning Brits have been told to brace themselves for downpours tomorrow as wide swathes of the UK are set to see rain in the coming hours. The UK is bracing for unsettled conditions as a weather front is forecast to push in from the Atlantic with people in northern and western parts of the country warned to expect a drenching. The weather front is forecast to move in from the west early tomorrow morning with parts of Northern Ireland forecast to feel the first of the downpours. Western parts of Scotland are also due to see the first of the rain at around 5am tomorrow with the weather front moving west over the next few hours. Over the course of the day central Scotland, eastern Scotland and the border area are likely to see some rain too. The Met Office weather forecast for Tuesday said: “Cloudy for many with a few bright spells at times. Rain moving into northwest Scotland and Northern Ireland through the day.” Meanwhile the picture is set to be brighter for people in the south-east where the conditions are set to remain brighter as the majority of unsettled weather passes further to the north. The BBC weather forecast called for similar conditions with a band of cloud and rain forecast to push southwards over Scotland and Northern Ireland. The forecaster added: “For England and Wales, patchy cloud and the odd shower, but longer spells of sunshine in the south-east.” Meanwhile looking further ahead this week more areas are set to see rain on Wednesday with cloud and spells of heavier rain sweeping eastwards meaning it could be brollies out for more Brits by midweek.
