Brit dad pleads guilty to causing death of his son, 2, who plunged from Cyprus hotel window The Essex father, who was not named by the Cypriot court, was reportedly swinging his son from side to side when the boy fell through an open window at a hotel An Essex father accused of dropping his two-year-old son from a fourth floor hotel window has pleaded guilty to causing the toddler's death. The incident happened at the King Evelthon Beach Hotel and Resort in Chlorakas, near Paphos, in Cyprus on July 12. The father has today pleaded guilty to one charge of causing death through a reckless, rash or dangerous act at a court in Paphos. The next hearing is due on October 5, when the facts of the case will be set out by the prosecution, while the defence will present mitigation. The court has not released the father's name. His lawyer, Alexandros Alexandrou, previously told the Cyprus Mail that the 37-year-old father has not been named in court due to another young child being involved. The man was only allowed to return to the UK for his son's funeral, on condition that he flew back to Cyprus last week in order for the plea hearing to take place. Paphos district court was told in July that the boy fell through an open window when his father was holding him around his waist and swinging him from side to side. But on Tuesday The Sun reported he disputes this, and says he sat his son on a window ledge while waiting for a lift, without realising the window was open. This is a Breaking News story.
