The man continued pulling at the container, repeatedly tugging at it until he eventually managed to prise it loos and then made off with the money. The footage showed two members of staff carrying on with their work just a short distance from the thief, apparently unaware that their hard-earned tips were being stolen right beside them. The incident happened at Salt 'N Batter fish and chip shop in Ammanford, Wales. A spokesperson for the shop said: "Another low life stealing staffs hard earned tips." Explaining how the theft went unnoticed despite taking place so close to the employees, they added: "My attention was focused on the work in front of me, and despite the noise of the work, I was also chatting with my colleague across from me." The incident comes amid concerns over rising levels of shoplifting across Britain, with another brazen theft caught on camera at a Greggs bakery in north London earlier this month. In that incident, a laughing thief was filmed helping himself to food and drink before apparently deciding his stolen haul was missing something. Footage showed the man grabbing a sandwich and a drink from a fridge before making his way towards the exit. However, rather than leaving, he suddenly turned back towards the shop's displays and said: "Crisps, where's the crisps?" He then grabbed a packed from the display and then fled the shop laughing. The bizarre incident took place at a Greggs branch on Holloway Road in Islington, north London.
