Sheriff's deputy saves man from fiery wreck after high-speed chase ends in crash

A sheriff's deputy pulled a screaming man from his burning vehicle moments after he led authorities on a high-speed chase which ended in a crash. According to officials, the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office deputy spotted the suspect driving about 20 miles per hour over the speed limit on State Highway 104 in Kingston, Washington, around 11:30 p.m. Monday. The driver refused to pull over and then accelerated, reaching speeds of 111 miles per hour, according to the sheriff's office.

New Social Security bill would lower retirement age to 60 for some workers

Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., on Wednesday introduced a new bill that would lower Social Security's full retirement age for workers in physically demanding jobs. The bill, called the Blue Collar Social Security Fairness Act, would make it so eligible individuals would be able to claim full Social Security retirement benefits starting at age 60. Currently, the earliest Social Security retirement age is 62, though beneficiaries receive reduced monthly checks for starting that soon.
