Bootle house fire: Mum and her three children found dead in bedroom are named Elisha Brabin, 36, Leo Brabin, 16, Ellis Brabin, eight, and Prudence Brabin, seven, were found dead after a fire ripped through the home in Stone Square, Bootle on Tuesday A mum and her three “beautiful babies” have been named as the family who tragically died in a horrific house fire. Elisha Brabin, 36, and the children, Prudence, seven, Ellis eight, and 16-year-old Leo, were found in the bedroom after the blaze ripped through the property on Stone Square in Bootle, Merseyside on Tuesday. Her husband, Kane Stephenson, 34, smashed windows as he desperately tried to rescue his family - but suffered serious burns as he was beaten back by the flames. He was taken to hospital for treatment. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said none of the four victims showed any signs of life. Emergency services found the semi-detached house "well alight on arrival". Another person was found outside the house by fire crews and was rushed to hospital with burns. A statement from the family said: “Our whole family is devastated by the loss of Elisha, Leo, Ellis and Prudence. Elisha was our beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunty, niece and cousin. She was a devoted and loving mother who lived for her children. They were her whole world, and she meant everything to us. “Our beautiful babies, Leo, Ellis and Prudence, were loved beyond measure and brought so much joy, happiness and love to our family. They filled our lives with laughter and precious memories that we will cherish forever. “The tragic loss of Elisha and our three precious children has left us heartbroken. They have all been taken from us far too soon. The loss we are experiencing is unimaginable, and the impact on our family will be felt forever. “As we try to come to terms with this devastating tragedy, we kindly ask that our family's privacy is respected whilst we grieve and support one another through this incredibly difficult time. We would like to thank everyone for their kindness, support and understanding.” Flowers, balloons, photos and teddies have been left at the scene of the tragedy. One neighbour said she was haunted after hearing a woman screaming at around 3.30am. She said: "I heard a commotion and went outside. I heard screaming, the lady was shouting." Another said Elisha and Kane married two years ago, adding: “They were a lovely family. It’s so sad. They lived for each other. They were besotted with each other. Everyone on the estate went to their wedding. He tried, and the neighbours tried, to get them out. He tried his best to get his family but couldn’t get past the landing.” A GoFundMe page set up aiming to raise £9,000 for the family says: “Our community has been left heartbroken following a devastating house fire that has tragically taken the lives of members of a family. “At a time of unimaginable grief, we want to come together to support the family’s loved ones and help ease some of the financial pressures they may now be facing. “Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser can help us reach more people. “Our thoughts are with the family, their loved ones and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss. Thank you for your kindness, support and generosity.” Fire chiefs say the blaze at the semi-detached property “spread rapidly” in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Neighbour Loti Nambobe, who is taking care of the family’s dog after the fire, said: “It’s a community. It’s broken. It hurts. There were guys that tried to go in. People were doing everything, honestly. Like everyone here is a family and it’s broken everyone.” He told how neighbours ran into the street to help: “It was scary, horrible to even think about. It was hard, everyone wanted to help. People were throwing bricks to try and smash the window, trying to get ladders up. They were trying everything they could to help.” A joint investigation involving Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service is continuing, with a mobile incident room set up close to the scene. The Bishop of Liverpool the Rt Rev Ruth Worsley and Bishop of Warrington the Rt Rev Simon Robinson said they were “deeply saddened to hear of the devastating incident”, adding: “Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones at this unimaginably difficult time.” Bootle MP Peter Dowd said: “My heart goes out to the family and friends of the four who lost their lives in a house fire in Bootle. Their loss is beyond words. This shocking event will touch everyone in our community.” He said that police and other emergency services “must be allowed to undertake their investigations into this tragic situation”, adding: “I also want to put on record the outstanding work our emergency services do in such challenging personal circumstances.” Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) arrived on the scene at about 3:45am on Tuesday and found the semi-detached house “well alight”. Crews in breathing apparatus went into the house to try to bring the blaze under control and search for anyone inside. They later confirmed that four people “showing no signs of life” had been found in an upstairs bedroom.
