UK coffee company plunges into liquidation after 76 years The UK based coffee company dates back to 1950, providing supplies for restaurants, cafes, hotels and workplaces across the UK, and has now plunged into liquidation A UK coffee company has plunged into liquidation after 76 years. Joe Black Coffee Roasters, based in Liverpool, supplied coffee to businesses across the UK. The company dates back to 1950 however the business currently listed on Companies House was incorporated in 2021. The business supplied coffee to restaurants, cafes, hotels and workplaces across the UK. Their website states: "We don’t just supply great coffee – we support your business every step of the way. Whether you’re running a café, hotel, or workplace, we provide everything you need to deliver exceptional coffee experiences." The firm say: "Our story began in Liverpool in 1950, when we first opened our doors as Bellews & Co Merchants. Back then, coffee roasting was as much an art as it was a trade — and it still is for us today. "Over the years, we’ve grown from a small local roaster into a trusted name in homes, cafés, and workplaces across the UK." As well as provided products the company also offers training and coffee machinery and servicing. According to The Gazette, Adam Price and Lane Bednash of CMB Partners UK Limited were appointed as joint administrators on September 8. Joe Black Coffee Roasters has been contacted for comment.
