The three suspects were captured on CCTV storming the property at Smith's Wood in Solihull before fleeing with the funds and expensive watches. The trio, all believed to be in their 20s, left in a vehicle thought to be a black BMW X3. A fourth accomplice appeared to be issuing commands through a video call. The husband was badly beaten and severely injured, while the wife, who was weeks away from giving birth, was threatened with a blade. The shocking break-in occurred at around 5.20pm on Saturday, December 13 last year. An appeal has now been launched to trace the suspects, with a £10,000 Crimestoppers reward on offer. The intruders donned face masks and hoodies, but one was described as a black man bearing a small diagonal scar below his left eyebrow, reports Birmingham Live. Crimestoppers, which operates independently from police, has put up the reward for intelligence provided exclusively to the charity that results in the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Alan Edwards, its West Midlands regional manager, said: "This was a young family, at home, weeks away from welcoming a new baby. "What was done to them is hard to take in, and the effects are still being felt every day. Four people planned this and four people know what happened that evening. "Others will know too: someone who was told about it afterwards, someone who noticed a friend or relative suddenly flush with money, or someone who saw a black BMW X3 in the area that Saturday. That scar under the eyebrow may be the detail that brings a face to mind. "We understand that speaking up about something like this feels daunting. That's precisely why our charity exists. We are not the police. We never ask for your name, we can't trace your IP address, and you will never be asked to give a statement or go to court. In nearly 40 years we have never broken that promise. "If this has been sitting with you, please pass it on to us to help keep our communities safe. You can help this family without ever saying who you are." Crimestoppers said anonymity means no police, no courts, no witness statements. The reward is due to expire on Christmas Eve 2026.
