Four people charged over shooting in suburban Perth

Police charge four people after man shot in Perth's Hamilton Hill Four people have been charged after a 37-year-old man was shot in the stomach while walking near bushland in surburban Perth. Police allege the "targeted" shooting occurred near the corner of Karda Way and Yongka Road in Hamilton Hill, about 23 kilometres south-west of Perth's CBD, at 4:30am on Sunday, September 13. A member of the public found the man and helped him until an ambulance arrived, while police descended on the area to search for the suspects. Police at the time urged people living in the area to lock their doors and windows and stay inside, but later in the day they said they believed the incident was isolated and there were no concerns for public safety. The alleged victim has since been discharged from hospital after undergoing surgery. A 47-year-old man from O’Connor, a 39-year-old man from Aveley, a 45-year-old man from Success and a 49-year-old woman from Hamilton Hill have each been charged with 'attempt to unlawfully kill'. They were refused bail and are due to appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court today. Police said the investigation was ongoing.
